Original E.P. Meter etching, signed and dated 1921, Annapolis

Framed size 13.75 x 16.75. Name of work: "In need of repair." Annapolis, 1921. Difficult to photograph because of the glass; it's a must-see.

EUGENE PAUL METOUR (1880 - 1929)

Eugene Paul Metour was born in Brittany and was raised in France's North African colonies. He was a trained architect with a degree from the Royal Polytechnic School in London, and moved to the United States in 1903. He taught art at Ohio State University, and published his first etchings at that time. Metour then accepted a teaching position at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, producing more than forty etchings of Maryland cities and landscapes. Following his stay in Maryland, he moved to Williamstown, Massachusetts and taught at Williams College.
